HODGSON (Roger) / Open The Door

Announced in enter as the album waited since fifteen years by fans of SUPERTRAMP, one is therefore here in measure to think that finally the brave ROGER has found its creative verve re-launched with the promising RITES OF PASSAGES left in 1997 . It is necessary allegation that fracture victim of the two wrists it was impossible for the ex guitarist - keyboards of SUPERTRAMP to make better and leave an album before .It is therefore here its Fourth studio album only , although the precedent make more agency of strewn BEST-OF of inescapable . Of admission the surprise of the fan SUPERTRAMP that I am been great , I am found with the piece of opening dived in the universe of CRISIS WHAT CRISIS ? with a piece entirely in the spirit of "THE MEANING" therefore of the very good SUPERTRAMP and clearly more SUPERTRAMP than the current SUPERTRAMP with this splendid voice that has learnt me to like the music before to make knowledge with GENESIS ! ONE can therefore consider the surprise of size .Un side inescapable enough is brought in the totality by influence them Celtic certainly yielded of the entertainment EXCALIBUR to which mister HODGSON had lent its vote . It is therefore with a very good foot that I welcome this new album marked by the past musically but opened to the new resonances .Point of gimmicks pianos very stamped SUPERTRAMP in this album , nevertheless the spirit is there more present than in the original .We finds there elsewhere "SHOWDOWN" already present on the before album but in a different version and without its ex-accomplice to SAXOPHON : JOHN ANTHONY HELLIWELL .Alone reproaches to note however is a loss of PUNCH on some shares despite the presence of LUC PONTHIEU to rhythmicss that has not envied has anything to BOB C.BENBERG or PHIL COLLINS (Note : 2 Last minutes of DEATH AND A ZOO ) but does not appear had a speculation as inspired on this music . Not Again as good as the magnificent "IN THE EYE OF THE STORM " that beneficiary from more exceptional musicians again this OPEN THE DOOR could Re-open the door of the success to this great fellow of an other style of PROGRESSIVE and especially of a good music style ! To note equally the presence of DIDIER LOCKWOOD to violins and a sacredness team of FRENCH musicians of the best grown .
