HODGSON (Roger) / In the Eye Of the Storm

Do you have a Peugeot 205? No more, nevertheless since i am fan of Supertramp and Roger Hodgson (always preferred to Rick Davis) i will be glad if i could buy it for myself , but you see , I was a little too young (except for a MAJORETTE's Toy), I should have done all that my dad, whom listened hard SUPERTRAMP , have at least decided to take a 205 in leasing! What it was beautiful the music of the pub (IN JEOPARDY) with its small notes to the FOOLS OVERTURE , to take HODGSON all alone for Supertramp . I will not speak therefore about my parents dispointments when they learnt that Roger left the band and hopeless to the idea as early the following year, that SUPERTRAMP would not be anymore SUPERTRAMP, and that CANONBALL would be the hymn of the new group, and this than it could no longer doing better without his Guitarist and essential Mentor.

In the eye of the Storm was so the 1st Solo release of ROGER HODGSON, and fortunately he remained faithful to its ideas (him) and well furnishing a splendid album perfectly as the logical suit to the disparaged one, but excellent, "FAMOUS LAST WORDS " we can note that the "little dad", some goes out himself wonderful ; to the point to do clearly better alone.

Taken in a general view the variety in the continuity brings the music of SUPERTRAMP (and yes it is, there only the name that lacks) a progress in the sounds research with, always very Piano, Synthetics new sounds replacing the old Hammond B3 and a DX7 cloning the WURLITZER Electric Piano. Beginnings of the album in the trains Pink Floyd with baby cries and Storm from the Presidential HAD HAS DREAM "presidential" and masterly until the DON'T LEAVE ME NOW (SUPERTRAMP) or SONGS FOR GUY of (ELTON JOHN) ending .

Mister HODGSON offers here to the SUPERTRAMP fans the album that they awaited and that will no longer , alas , will be coming from the band himself.
Alone, the former Guitarist / Keyboardist a SINGER of SUPERTRAMP will be the last rescuer of a nostalgia , to the MORE POP turn on BREAKFAST IN AMERICA.

The TRAMP is Dead, Long Live to HODGSON !

One of the best albums of the year 1984!
